Access to Collaborative Limited Means Program (LMP)

The Collaborative Law Association of the Rochester Area, Inc. (CLARA) has developed the “Access to Collaborative” Limited Means Program to provide divorcing couples with limited resources the opportunity to use the collaborative process.  If you would like to be considered for this program please complete the intake form on this page, and you will be contacted by the program administrator or an attorney assigned to your case to determine whether you are eligible.

Limited Means Case Description

Each case will be handled by a team made up of the following professionals:

  • Attorneys: Each party will have their individual attorney
  • Neutral Facilitator / MHP: The coach will be present at each collaborative meeting, and will meet separately with clients as the coach determines is necessary.
  • Financial Neutral: The financial neutral’s role will be to gather financial data and information, to prepare statements of net worth, and to present the financial information to the team. Upon the request of the attorneys, the financial neutral may also develop and/or test scenarios to assist with the equitable distribution and support issues.
  • Child Specialist Neutral: There will be a child specialist referral when there are children with particularly difficult issues, or where the parents request expert assistance with parenting issues. The child specialist role will be to meet with the parents to discuss parenting plans, appropriate scheduling for age of children, and any concerns the parents have regarding the children and their adjustment to the new family structure.
